Harrison Park School Garden Project: Kids take home vegetables!

Last week several 6th graders harvested their fall crops, including potatoes, carrots, beets, and other fall veggies. They brought home HUGE bags over the weekend.

About the Harrison Park School Garden Project

In the summer of 2009, a small team of dedicated students came together to create and maintain a garden and greenhouse within our school, Harrison Park (formerly Binnsmead Middle School). Students throughout the year will be able to learn about the science of gardening/farming, as well as understand the importance of sustainable farming. We will be posted pictures on a regular basis to show our work.

We would like to thank Portland Nursery for their gracious donations to get us started, SUN School, PEEPS, and Ernst & Young for helping us with volunteers, and Terry & Donna Deacon, and Ms. Konig's class from Bridlemile Elementary for their donations.

We are currently looking for any other possible donors that would like to support our project.
